'Record' business deals, a thing of the past!
Sometime ago media reports went overdrive in declaring that the business of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Acharya’ is setting new records. It was also said that Laxman, the former partner of Dil Raju, bought the rights of ‘Acharya’ for the Nizam region for a record amount. But it turned out to be false. The film’s business has not yet been closed.
As producers waiting for the reopening of the theaters, the ‘Acharya’ team will also have to adjust to the fact that they would not get any fancy rates. The coronavirus outbreak has impacted the business badly. No distributor is willing to buy at the outright prices.
As we have reported earlier, the business deals of Rajamouli’s “RRR” are also undergoing re-negotiation. Distributors are not ready to go with the earlier deals. They are demanding a huge cut in the prices. Similar is the case with #Prabhas20 and other big movies.
So, the “record” prices for any film will now be just a media creation until the market bounces back.
