“An absorbing tale of Policemen and their life” - Rana Daggubati says after launching IPS Amit Lodha Book ‘Bihar Diaries’ in Hyderabad

Actor Rana Daggubati expressed his views while releasing the book ‘Bihar Diaries’ in Hyderabad on Thursday evening, authored by the firebrand police officer Amit Lodha, Deputy Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) as a tribute to the blood and sweat of the Indian police that goes into keeping the country free from crime. Badminton Player and Chief National Coach, Indian Badminton Team, Pullela Gopichand was also present at the book launch.

An avid reader himself, Rana Daggubati, couldn’t resist but to get himself a copy of this truly absorbing book. He felt the riveting book deserves wider audience, and he absolutely thrilled to introduce the book in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the book launch, Rana Daggubati said, the book is what we ought to know - the bravery and honesty of our police force that ensures we sleep well at night. There is a great level of cynicism in general masses about our authorities, but it is important for us as a country to listen to these tales. It displays great strength in character and integrity by our forces, make us appreciate the law and order even more. The sacrifices these officers make every day are truly admirable!!”

“Most people associate glamour with a policeman’s job, but in reality, there is a lot of blood, sweat and some tears too. Losing a colleague or having your family in the line of danger is a professional hazard we face almost every day.” Speaking further Amit Lodha said every result of police work is a collaborative and he mentioned that while officers like him lead from the front the contribution of his team mates right from constables to other ranking officers are equally commendable and significant.

"As much as the book is about the thrilling cat-and-mouse chase of Lodha’s efforts to catch one of the most feared criminal lords of Shekhpura, the book gets its character from Lodha’s surprisingly, interesting style of writing, peppered with humour and the endearing anecdotes of his wife and children. It so happens that the fearless braveheart is also a writer at heart."  Amit added.

While this is his first book, his publisher at Penguin has already asked him to write a second one. What’s more, Bihar Diaries is all set to be made into a film too!!

“After hearing the story for the film, Neeraj Pandey thought that I should write a book too as it would be very appealing to the youth, and it will present the hitherto unknown facets of a policeman’s life.”
