Anushka: The Heroine Of The Year

Year 2015 saw many big films and many stars in Tollywood shined. One of them whom we cannot miss to mention is Anushka Shetty. Sweety ruled in Tollywood this year. She has many releases and most of them did not miss the super hit list.

Lets start off with Baahubali. We all know what cult film it was. Anushka was not seen much in the first part of the film, but the small bit of role was magnanimous. She will be having a full fledged role in the second part and we are sure that she will revel in her role as Devasena in Baahubali 2.

After Baahubali we saw her in yet another period film, Gunasekhar’s Rudramadevi. She did a splendid job. We also wrote in our review that this was one film, which Anushka can be proud off. Though the film was getting delayed, once it released it went on to become a hit film. Anushka gave an astounding performance.

Then came Size Zero, a different film. Different because Anushka put on a whopping 20 kgs of weight for this film. That’s not something every heroine will do. She tread a different path. Though the film bomed at the box-office, Anushka will be remembered for signing up this role.

Shruthi Haasan gave Anushka tough competition…

After Anushka it was Shruthi Haasan who created a niche for herself in Tollywood. She had only one Telugu release and that was Srimanthudu, the film became the second highest grosser in Tollywood after Baahubali. Her performance in Srimanthudu as Charusheela will be remembered as she enticed everyone with her impeccable style. After this film her remuneration went to Rs 1.25 to Rs 1.5 Cr.

Third Position…

Third position goes to milk beauty Tamannah, she has regained her position in Tollywood in 2015 with a bang. She was seen in Baahubali and Bengal Tiger.

Samantha struggles!

For the lady with golden leg it was a bad year in Tollywood. She lost her number one position. Her only film S/o Satyamurthy did an above average business.

Others who were noticed…

It was mixed year for Rakul Preet Singh (Bruce Lee, Kick 2, Pandaga Chesuko), Regina (Subramanyam For Sale, Soukyam), Rashi Khanna (Jil, Shivam, Bengal Tiger) as all these three girls had only average success this year.

Nithya Menen had almost four releases in 2015 and made her presence felt with S/o Sathyamurthy, Rudramadevi, Ok Bangaram, Ganga.
