Baahubali, NTR win CineMaa Awards

'Baahubali' won major awards at CineMAA awards 2016 event that was held on Sunday night. 'Baahubali' won the Best Film award, while NTR Jr received Best Actor award. MAA TV group’s CineMaa Awards celebrations were conducted on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at HICC Hyderabad.

Director Rajamouli was adjudged as best director for 'Baahubali', while Koratala Siva got Critics award for his splendid direction in 'Srimanthudu'.'Baahubali' also won several awards in technical categories including music, singers, etc. Best Film Award as Critic’s choice also went to 'Srimanthudu'.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna presented the Best Actor Award trophy to NTR Jr for his astounding performance in 'Temper'. NTR who received the Best Actor award said his grandfather NTR, ANR, Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh are his constant inspiration. Best Actress in popular category went to Anushka for her bravura performance in Gunasekhar's 'Rudhramadevi'. Allu Arjun was given Critics Award for his performance as Gona Ganna Reddy in 'Rudhramadevi'.

Chiranjeevi receives standing ovation

The highlight of the event was the Chiranjeevi's live dance performance on stage. MAA Tv first did a tribute to Chiranjeevi and the megastar danced to some of his movie's songs on stage. When Chiru entered on to the dais, he received standing ovation.

The event will be telecast on MAA Tv later this month.
