Balakrishna's 100th film: Sequel to Aditya 369

It is now almost official that Nandamuri Balakrishna will be doing sequel to his hit science fiction movie Aditya 369. Titled Aditya 999, the film is going to be Balakrishna’s 100th movie. His recent Sankranthi release Dictator was his 99th film as actor.

Director Boyapati was to direct 100th movie but Balakrishna is in favour of Singeetam Srinivas Rao’s story. So the movie is all set to be launched in couple of months. Singeetam Srinivas Rao who directed Aditya 369 will as well direct this sequel.

Released in 1991, Aditya 369 is considered as one of the best movies ever made in Telugu film industry. And it is also ranked in the list of top 10 movies in Balakrishna’s career. Written and directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, the movie was produced by Anita Krishna on Sridevi Movies banner and presented by singer S. P. Balasubramanyam. Balakrishna played dual roles a normal guy called Krishna Kumar and as king Sri Krishna Devaraya. The movie is based on the theme of Time Machine. Tinu Anand played the scientist role and Mohini as his daughter. The film had super hit music by maestro Ilayaraja.

It was also dubbed in Tamil as Apoorva Sakthi 369 and in Hindi as Mission 369.
