Harish Shankar still plans to remake Special 26

Three years have passed since the release of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Special 26’ that hit the screens on Feb 8, 2013. The film received many accolades for its subject and treatment. 

Director Harish Shankar who was totally bowled over by the movie planned to remake it in Telugu a year ago but it didn’t work out. Now he is all set to begin the regular shoot of ‘DJ’ aka Duvvada Jagannadham with Allu Arjun as hero. ‘DJ’ is his own script. 

As Harish Shankar launched this film with Allu Arjun, people have started believing that he has dropped off plans of remaking ‘Special 26’.

But our sources have revealed that Harish Shankar has already bought rights of the movie and he still has plans to remake it sometime next year. The film may go to the sets once he wraps up ‘DJ’ with Allu Arjun. He is planning to produce and direct the remake of ‘Special Chabbis’. Sources say his friend Krishna will co-produce it.

Meanwhile, no heroine has been finalized yet opposite Allu Arjun in this film.
