Official: Akshay Kumar in Shankar - Rajini's 2.0

The much-awaited sequel to Shankar’s Robo was launched on Wednesday morning (December 16, 2015) in Chennai. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the title role, the sequel began its regular shoot. The biggest surprise is Akshay Kumar joining the movie’s cast. Yes, leading Bollywood hero khiladi Akshay Kumar is playing a very important role in the movie and he has joined the shoot on the first day.

The movie is titled 2.0 in both Telugu and Tamil languages. According to the official press statement issued, Amy Jackson is playing the female lead. Music is by A.R.Rahman, while Nirav Shah handles the camera and VFX Supervisor is  Srinivas Mohan.

"The movie is being shot in 3D made with top technicians from all over the globe making it a complete world class film. Legacy Effects from USA, the world No.1 Animatronics company who worked on movies like Jurassic Park, Iron Man, and Avengers, has been signed in for this movie," said the official statement.
