Only basic idea is taken, says Kona Venkat

Although Kona Venkat officially announced that upcoming Sankarabharanam is based on Bollywood hit, Phas Gaye Re Obama, the movie is largely original comedy.

"Sankarabharanam is completely novel comedy storyline but a chunk of scenes were inspired by Phas Gaye Re Obama. Other than that it is completely different from the Hindi movie with more focus on entertainment," Kona told us.

Sankarabharanam stars Nikhil and Nanditha as the lead pair and it is directed by newcomer Uday Nandanavanam. Kona Venkat is the writer of the movie and is also presenter to it. "Though we didn't take not much from the Bollywood movie, we bought the remake rights as I didn't want others to accuse me that we copied from this movie after the release," he reasoned.

The movie is releasing this weekend (December 4th).
