On being conferred highest civilian award Padma Shree, director Rajamouli in his characteristic humble manner said he doesn't believe he deserves such great honour. Rajamouli who is currently canning the key portions of his Baahubali 2 in Kerala responded about Padma Shree award announcement made by Government of India.

"I don’t know what to say. It is quite a mixed feeling. Very frankly I don't feel I deserve the honor. This is not humility. I am quite aware of my achievements. But I haven't created any artistic brilliance that deserves this honour," he tweeted.

But he said that both Ramoji Rao and Superstar Rajinikanth who are going to be conferred Padma Vibhushan richly deserve the honours. "Awarding Ramoji rao garu and Rajanikanth garu with Padma Vibhushan is so apt. Their work created a lasting impression that will reflect the occasion with such stalwarts."

Lastly, he also acknowledged the joy that he is deriving as he is about to receive such highest honour along with those stalwarts. "But cant deny that it also makes me so happy and proud to be with them," he tweeted further.
