Rewind 2015: Hits and Flops of Feb

Friday, December 11, 2015 - 16:15

The second month in 2015 also had seen very few releases and even less number of successes. Total 13 straight movies hit the screens in February 2015. Of these thirteen movies only one movie turned out to be a hit and another one is an average grosser.

Rajasekhar's much hyped Gaddam Gang, remake of Tamil hit Sood Kavvum, was the first release in Feb but the movie could not attract the Telugu audiences and ended up being damp squib. The next notable release was Kranthi Madhav directed Malli Malli Idirani Roju that won great critical acclaim for its poetic storytelling. The film was average grosser at box-office.

Allari Naresh's Bandipotu, directed by Indraganti, was a disaster. The other notable release in the month, Paddanandi Premalo Mari didn't help the producers or distributors but it helped the lead pair falling in love and they eventually got engaged recently.

NTR starrer Puri Jagannadh directed Temper was the real winner in Feb. The film was released amidst low expectations as Puri was going through bad phase but the movie turned out to be a decent hit as it collected nearly Rs 44 Crs. NTR in particularly won praise for his performance and the transformation in style.

Other movies like Ram Leela, Bham Bham Bhole, Pesarattu, Kolimi, etc sank without a trace.
