Scarcity of popular heroines in Tollywood!

Samantha is not signing films any more. She seems to be occupied with the preparations for her engagement to her boyfriend Naga Chaitanya. Ansuhka has become too “big” heroine for most young heroes. She is either doing movies like “Baahubali 2” or being part of “Singam” franchise or heroine-oriented ones. Shruti Haasan is very selective of her movies. Even after delivering a record-breaking hit with “Srimanthudu”, she has only signed two straight Telugu movies – ‘Premam’ and Pawan Kalyan’s new movie in the last one year.
Kajal Agarwal has lost her charm and become too “senior” as she is now past 30 and has more than 10 years of acting experience.

So the industry is facing crisis of young popular heroines who can fit with the current young top stars like Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, NTR, etc. Pawan Kalyan who normally doesn’t repeat his heroines is now pairing up with his ‘Gabbar Singh’ heroine Shruti Haasan as there is no good choice of other young popular heroines.

For Mahesh Babu – Murugadoss’ movie, the makers went to Bollywood to bring a vivacious heroine but dropped off due to high remuneration and took Rakul Preet Singh in. Ram Charan is repeating Rakul in his new film ‘Dhruva’ too.

Now the industry is focusing on the rising beauties – Catherine ( who has suddenly got popular after the success of ‘Sarrainodu’), Rashi Khanna and Rakul. Lavanya Tripathi and Regina are also being considered but they are not in the glamorous heroines’ category.
