Senior producer Jayakrishna passes away

Senior producer Jayakrishna, popularly regarded as the man who shaped up megastar Chiranjeevi's career in the beginning stage, is no more. He was 67. Jayakrishna had produced 'Manavoori Pandavulu' in 1978 with Chiranjeevi as hero and with this movie that Chiranjeevi got his major recognition as hero. He also produced 'Mantrigari Viyyakundu' again with Chiranjeevi.

He was the first producer to pay a remuneration of Rs. 1116 to Chiranjeevi when the latter was still waiting for chances in the industry.

He began his career as makeup man. He was permanent makeup artiste for Krishnam Raju. He produced movies on Jayakrishna Movies banner. In his last years, he led life without much money and due recognition to his services to the Telugu movie industry.
