Vijay starrer ‘Mersal’ set new records in openings in South India. The Tamil film created Non-Rajini record in Tamilnadu. Despite not-so-encouraging reviews from the critics, the film is doing phenomenal business in Tamilnadu and USA. The film’s Telugu dubbed version too was supposed to hit the screens with the Tamil version but it ran into some problems.
 
Now the makers are planning to release it on 26th October. In ‘Adirindhi’, Vijay has played three roles and the movie is directed by Atlee of ‘Raja Rani’ fame. It is being released in Telugu states by North Star.
