Ala Vaikunthapuramlo sparks off a debate

Allu Arjun starrer ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo” has sparked off a debate over the title. Today’s generation of audiences is poor at Telugu language and its nuances. Most of today’s youth don’t know various meanings for the same word. Understanding of verses is almost nil.
On the other hand, Trivikram is increasingly naming his movies with a poetic manner. Last year, when he used ‘Aravindha Sametha Veera Raghava’, people started wondering what is ‘sametha’ (with). Similarly, he has sparked off the debate about the latest film ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’. The title means ‘in the abode of Lord Vishnu’.
As soon as the first look of title and small video came, youngsters started debating about its meaning. Some wondered shouldn’t it be ‘alaa’ (like that) instead of ‘ala’. Others thought why did Trivikram put a wave (ala) before ‘Vaikunthapuram’.
They later got to know the real meaning of this famous line from Pothana’s “Bhagavatam”. This is the line from a verse.
In this film, the name of Tabu’s residence is “Vaikunthapuram”. The movie revolves around this house, hence Trivikram took this famous line. It is nice to see that Trivikram is making today’s youngsters look into Telugu literature.
