All eyes on Sukumar's next big film

Although he said on record that he may think over the possibility of directing a sequel to his current blockbuster ‘Rangasthalam’, director Sukumar told his close associates that there would not be any sequel. When media threw that question to me, I just went along with them, he said. He has plans of directing sequel. So, that puts speculations to rest.
‘Rangasthalam’ in its opening weekend has collected whopping Rs 50+ Cr share worldwide. In USA, the film grossed $2.4 million. The movie is expected to collect more than Rs 100 Cr (share) worldwide in its lifetime run. Summed holidays are going to help the film to have good run. Sukumar earlier did sequel to his maiden movie ‘Arya’ but ‘Arya 2’ bombed like anything. It also brought bad name to his directorial skills. Since then he is wary of sequels.
As per our sources, Sukumar will be directing another big movie with a big star. Story idea is already in place. Once he pitches this idea to this big star, the film will be announced officially. He is going for vacation later this month. Producers are now queuing up to give him huge advances. But he will only decide when to take his next film and with whom in June this year.
The success of ‘Rangasthalam’ has put Sukumar in top league. He will now be chased by all the leading stars for the collaborations. All eyes are on his next mov(i)e.
