Anil Kapoor as villain in Bharateeyudu 2?

If reports are to be believed, Anil Kapoor is all set to play the role of the main villain in director Shankar’s new film ‘Bharateeyudu 2’ aka ‘Indian 2’ starring Kamal Haasan. The film’s shoot is underway. Shankar initially planned rope in Ajay Devgn but due to financial problems, the idea was dropped. It was then Ajay Devgn took up Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. 

Shankar is now having discussions with Anil Kapoor. Nearly 20 years ago, Anil Kapoor had acted in Shankar’s maiden Bollywood film ‘Nayak The Real Hero’ as a hero. The film was the Hindi remake of Shankar’s Tamil movie ‘Mudhalvan’ (Oke Okkadu in Telugu).

‘Bharateeyudu’ also features Siddharth in the role of a journalist and Rakul Preet Singh as Siddharth’s lover. Kajal Aggarwal is the main heroine. She will join the shoot in November. 

Anil Kapoor recently came down to Chennai to discuss with Shankar. But official confirmation is awaited.
