AP Chief Minister Jagan's efforts to woo NTR

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and NTR Jr are friends but they have ideological differences. NTR Jr comes from the family that launched Telugu Desam Party (TDP). However, NTR and TDP's boss Nara Chandrababu Naidu are not on good terms from a long time. The star had stayed away from campaigning for the party during the last two general elections. Now, that Telugu Desam party has seen worst ever drubbing and is facing a deep crisis, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to further split the Naidu-Nandamuri family to weaken the Telugu Desam Party. 

The offer

Speculations among the political circles are that YS Jagan’s government is planning to rope in NTR Jr as a brand ambassador for Andhra Pradesh’s tourism. NTR’s close friend Kodali Nani is now serving as a minister in YS Jagan’s cabinet. His father-in-law Narne Srinivasa Rao is also a member of the YSRC party.

If NTR does take up the offer of a brand ambassador, he can easily claim that it has nothing to do with politics. But people will read it differently. 

Thanks but no thanks

However, our sources have informed that NTR Jr will not take up any assignment from the current Andhra Pradesh’s government as he would face problems in the future when he wants to enter into direct politics. Also, he would lose support from his community. He would rather continue to be the non-political star for another decade and focus on the acting career.
