April 2020: Theaters to continue remain shut!

Telugu film industry has shut down all its operations from shootings to screenings from the third week of March. We have now entered into April. Will there be any new releases this month? As things stand today, theaters will not be opened till April 14th. Though the Indian government has confirmed that it has no intention to extend the lockdown beyond the stipulated date, the Telugu film industry is skeptical about commencing operations this month.
“Even if we begin operations from April 15th, will people be in the mood to come to the theaters? I doubt that,” said a movie exhibitor. Producers believe the same. So, there will not in any releases in April as well.
Nani’s ‘V’ is hoping to hit the screens on April 24 but it most likely will move to May. ‘Uppena’, ‘Nishabdham’, ‘Orey Bujjigaa’, ‘Red’ and ‘V’ were originally scheduled to hit the screens during the period of March 25 to April 9. As and when the theaters opened, these films should be given priority for the release.
