Atlee hints at a film with NTR

‘Whistle’ director Atlee is hogging all the limelight now thanks to the trailer of ‘Whistle’ that set the Youtube on fire. The film hits the screens this Friday. This is his third combination with Tamil superstar Vijay after previous blockbusters ‘Police’ and ‘Adirindi’. The successful young director attended the pre-release event that was held on Wednesday in Hyderabad.

‘Whistle’ is the dubbed version of the Tamil movie ‘Bigil’ and it has Nayanthara as the heroine. Mahesh Koneru is presenting the Telugu version.

At the event, Atlee confirmed that he already met NTR Jr for a possible collaboration. However, he didn’t reveal much about it. “It is my longtime dream to direct a Telugu film and that will happen very soon. The moment my film gets released in Tamil, I would get a call from NTR Jr. He appreciated me for all the films I had directed so far. He is such a sweetheart and he encouraged me all through,” he recalled the long association he has with NTR Jr.

The director said he owes all the success to Tamil superstar to Vijay. “Without Vijay Anna’s support, I would not have reached where I am today,” he said with all the reverence for the Tamil superstar.
