Rajamouli's epic drama 'Baahubali 2' took nearly 2.5 million dollars in its opening day in China that was released in massive number of 7000 screens. The opening was bigger than 'Bhajrangi Bhaijan' but lower than 'Hindi Medium', recent Indian hit in China.

Irrfan Khan starrer 'Hindi Medium' took $3.42 million in its opening day in China and went on to gross $30 million in its lifetime. Despite getting massive number of screens, 'Baahubali 2' took just $2.5 million and the word-of-mouth is too weak, says China Box Office website.

According to the website, the Chinese are not that impressed with the visual extravaganza that Rajamouli movie offered. China has history of making even grandeur and visually rich movies. Also films with the stories of Kings and wars is routine affair to them.

The critics also gave bad ratings. Solace is that 'Baahubali 2' is getting bigger collections compared to its previous version which was washout in China.
