The Sankranthi Hungama has officially begun. This Sankranthi festival will witness four big releases and with the arrival of Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited bilingual ‘Darbar’, the fever has set in. The film hit the screens today worldwide.

‘Darbar’ is directed by Murugadoss. This is his first collaboration with the superstar. Set in the city of Mumbai, this cop drama showcases Rajinikanth in a different style. He is a bad cop named Aditya Arunachalam in the film. Nayanthara has played his romantic interest. Nivetha Thomas is his daughter. Anirudh has given the music.

The film has successfully managed to generate great buzz in Telugu as well. Produced by Lyca Productions, ‘Darbar’ will take good openings in Telugu states. The film has done Rs 14.5 crore pre-release business in AP and Andhra Pradesh. It needs to collect Rs 15 crore to get a break-even.
