Despite criticism, Sandeep Vanga becomes hotshot director

Sandeep Vanga is man of the moment. The young Telugu director is at the center of discussion on social media as some Bollywood critics and feminists are thrashing his latest release ‘Kabir Singh’ for its supposedly ‘toxic masculinity’ and ‘misogynistic’.

‘Kabir Singh’ featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani is remake of our Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’. The film is directed by Sandeep Vanga who also directed ‘Arjun Reddy’. For obvious reasons, the film got completely negative reviews from woke analysts.

However, the film has become huge blockbuster. In just two days, it has collected whopping Rs 42.90 Cr net in India. This is biggest ever opening for a Shahid Kapoor’s solo starrer. It is all set to join Rs 100 Cr club in the first week itself. The film struck a chord with mass audiences and youth.

Sandeep Vanga will now be flooded with many offers in Bollywood. But it has to be seen how he would react to the wildly negative comments from critics for the portrayal of women characters in the film.
