Andhra Pradesh government granted entertainment tax exemption for Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni'. Since the film relates to an emperor of Telugu land, Telangana state government also issued such orders.

Hence, Gunasekhar who directed 'Rudhravamadevi', a film about great emperor of Kakatiya dynasty, wrote a letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu seeking tax exemption to his movie.

In his letter he mentioned that he requested the government before the release of the movie and the government positively responded initially but later didn't proceed over it.

He said he felt happy when your government gave tax free status to 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni' and requested him to accord similar status to his movie and release the funds appropriate of tax that his movie paid.
