Of late some leading women in Tollywood have started looking for roles with substance. Each one is trying to add a zing to acting style and looking at roles which will captivate the audiences. Tamannah, Kajal Agarwal and Samantha who have been in the industry for a long time are the first ones to start this new trend.

For a start Tamannah is trying to do roles which give her good scope in performance. She is balancing between commercial films and the non-commercial ones. The actress is choosing her films with care and trying to see that she is not repetitive. She will be seen in the remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Queen'. She has also agreed to be part of Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Pellichoopulu'. On the other hand, she has 'Baahubali 2' up for release this summer.

Samantha who went into hibernation after Trivikram’s 'A Aa' is back with Nag Ashwin's biopic on veteran actress Savithri. Titled 'Mahanati', the film will be hitting the floors soon. She plays a sutradhar of the movie. She is also foraying into production was she wants to remake the Kannada film ‘U-turn’. So she has her plans in place after marriage.

Kajal Agarwal who has already tasted success this year with 'Khaidi No 150' too has played a blind girl's role in 'Do Lafzon Ki Kahani', which is different from the regular roles that she plays in Tollywood. Kajal is also looking at roles with grey shades. We will have to just wait and see if she will be accepted in such roles.
