Mahesh Babu's family is into politics as well. His father Superstar Krishna served as MP and his brother-in-law Galla Jayadev is current Lok Sabha MP representing from Guntur Lok Sabha constituency. Yet, Mahesh Babu says he has zero knowledge in politics.

His contemporary star Pawan Kalyan is already working actively in politics and launched Jana Sena party. When asked whether he would also plunge into polls in 2019, Mahesh replied: "I know nothing about polity. My interest and passion lies in cinema only."

Mahesh Babu spoke to Vikatan, a Tamil popular magazine. He also said he would now regularly do bilinguals. "Spyder is the right movie to come with in front of Tamil audiences. I am sure that audiences here (Tamilnadu) would love this movie. It is one of the best works of talented director Murugadoss," he stated.

He also informed them he was planning to debut in Tamil with Mani Ratnam movie but it didn't workout for various reasons.
