India lets out 'Newton' as Oscar Contender

Raj Kumar Rao starrer 'Newton' has been selected as India’s contender for the foreign language film Oscar.

Directed by Amit V Masurkar, the film is drama about Newton Kumar, a government clerk is sent on election duty to a naxal-controlled town in Chhattisgarh. 
 
Interestingly, the film was released today in India. The nomination was selected by 14-member Jury constituted Film Federation of India. Tollywood's veteran producer CV Reddy is the chairman for this Jury.
