Karan Johar bags Dear Comrade remake rights

Bollywood leading producer Karan Johar is mighty impressed with ‘Dear Comrade’, a film that stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika as the young lovers. After watching this romantic drama, Karan Johar has announced that he has bagged its Hindi remake rights. ‘Dear Comrade’ will have simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages this weekend worldwide. Now it will be remade in Bollywood as well. 

He tweeted, “Stunning and powerful love story! With top-notch performances and exceptional music by @justin_tunes On point debut direction by @bharatkamma @TheDeverakonda is BRILLIANT as is @iamRashmika well-done @MythriOfficial ANNOUNCING that @DharmaMovies to REMAKE this beautiful film.” 

Vijay D thanked Karan Johar, “So proud to have this man, watch, love and be the one to remake our baby #DearComrade in Hindi. Comrade @karanjohar biggest hugs, love and respect for you. Can't wait to do something mad with you and @DharmaMovies.”

 

This is a big boost to Vijay Deverakonda’s star power. He has already won the praise from top directors for his performances in his previous movies and now Karan Johar is also backing his knack for his story selection.

‘Dear Comrade’ is directed by newcomer Bharat Kamma. The film is part break-up story, a part love story. It is carrying high expectations.
