Director Krish who directed Balakrishna's 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' will now be directing another historical biopic of great princess. His next film is biopic of Rani Laxmi Bai who was born in 1828 in Varanasi. Kangana Ranaut is playing the title character. 

Titled 'Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi', the film will officially be launched on Thursday (May 04) evening at Kashi ghat in Varanasi. The unit will also perform famous Ganga Aarthi. 

The film will be produced by Kamal Jain and it will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. It is being written by Vijayendra Prasad and Prasoon Joshi. Shankar Ehsaan Loy will provide the music. 20-ft poster will also be unveiled today.
