Mahanati

Generally, in movies, elevation songs for heroes are quite common. But director Nag Ashwin turns tables and gives space for a female-oriented elevation song called Mahanati. This title song praises Savitri's greatness in terms of her acting and as a human being in general. Ram Jogayya Sastry's lyrics depict the valour of Savitri and how she conducted her life during those days. The catchphrase 'Mahanati' gives you goosebumps and has nicely been incorporated. This song will be a visual feast as the beautiful Savitri will be shown in full swing during her career.

Agipo Balyama

The moment you know that Savitri's biopic would be made, some good music of the bygone era would surely be explored. Music director Mickey J Meyer takes you back to the 1940's with Agipo Balyama. This song is quite an old school and showcases Savitri's innocence during her childhood days. Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry's lyrics make you feel how pure the childhood days used to be in those generations.  A winner of a song this.

Mooga Manasulu

Mooga Manasulu was one of Savitri's biggest hits in her career. Taking a cue from that song, Mickey J Meyer has composed a romantic ballad with the same name. Mickey's regular flavor is seen in this song which has a lovely setting. The love between Savitri and Gemini Ganesan is in the air and Sirivennela's lyrics are very romantic. A visual spectacle this song is going to be with Keerthy Suresh looking drop dead gorgeous.

Sadaa Nannu

All the songs in those days used to have a lot of traditional touch to it. Same is the case with Sada Nannu too as Mickey J Meyer brings out his traditional touch. Sirivennela's lyrics dominate the tune as they give the element of hope and treasure of one's feeling. All these songs will be shown as montages in the film and will carry the film forward. Right from the singing to the arrangements, this one is a unique song on the album.

Chivariki Migiledi

Many in this generation do not know that Savitri led a very miserable life during the final stages of her life. She was addicted to alcohol and died a tragic death. The last song, Chivariki Migiledi depicts the pain and agony that Savitri went through in a very gripping way. The tune is simple and Sirivennla's lyrics have been amazingly sung by Sunita who brings a pathos effect which will be the fitting finale in the film.

Bottom Line

The music album of Mahanati is not the regular song and dance album which you can hear on a daily basis. Every song has its own emotions and nicely depicts the story of Telugu film industry's biggest heroine to date. Mickey J Meyer brings his best as he adds a lot of pain to every number. Some of the songs Sadaa Nannu and Mooga Manasulu have a very old school charm whereas the rest of them engross you into the mood of the bygone era in their very own way.
