‘Pokiri’ was the first film that crossed Rs 40 crore share in Tollywood. It was a trendsetting movie in the genre of commercial movie masala entertainers. Released on April 28, 2006, ‘Pokiri’ has completed 14 years and Mahesh Babu’s fans are celebrating this occasion on social media during this quarantine period.

Mahesh Babu starred as an undercover police officer in this movie directed by Puri Jagannadh. Ileana played the female lead. The dialogue “Evadu Kodithe Mind Block Avuddo Vaade Pandugaadu” has become so popular that the phrase ‘mind block’ is now regularly being used by Telugu people. 

Mahesh Babu and Puri Jaganandh later teamed up for ‘Business Man’ which was a decent hit. However, Puri got miffed with Mahesh Babu dodged on their third collaboration ‘Jana Gana Mana’. The film never went to the sets though it was officially announced.
