Mani Ratnam to resume shoot in September

Maharashtra and Tamilnadu are the worst-hit states in India as far as coronavirus is concerned. But Mani Ratnam is said to be planning to commence the shoot of his current period movie in Pune from September.

This sounds strange but the great filmmaker is confident that the cases would go down by that time.

He is currently directing a period movie named ‘Ponniyan Selvan’ featuring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Mohan Babu, and Jayam Ravi. He wrapped up a major portion in Thailand early this year is planning to shoot some portions involving in Pune in September. But we have to see whether he would get permission to do so in Pune.

The film is to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages next year. AR Rahman is scoring the music.
