Ram Gopal Varma who is busy shooting for "Lakshmi's NTR", a biopic on late NT Rama Rao that focuses on the legendary actor-politician's twilight years, says he will not back off from releasing the movie despite mounting pressure from ruling Telugu Desam party. His producer Rakesh Reddy also stated that the film is not being made to take advantage in the coming elections.

"We are releasing the film in the month of March. We have not planned this film for political gains. Our intention is to tell the story of an important part of late NT Rama Rao's life that is being excluded in Krish and Balakrishna's NTR Mahanayakudu, the official biopic on NTR.

Rakesh Reddy also informed the media that the film's teaser will be released in the first week of February. "Lakshmi's NTR" features a newcomer in the role of NT Rama Rao while Kannada actress Yagna Shetty as Lakshmi Parvathi.
