Mercury is his best film says Prabhudeva

Director Karthik Subbaraj has come up with the film Mercury which is set to release in Telugu soon. Starring Prabhudeva in the lead role and presented by Pen Studios and Stone Bench Films, the film is produced by Jayantilal Gada and Karthikeyan Santanam, and is set to release on April 13 worldwide. To be released by KFC Productions in Telugu, a press meet was organized in Hyderabad on Sunday at Ramanaidu Studios amidst the presence of the film’s key members.

Speaking at this occasion, producer Karthikeyan Santanam said, “I am really happy to have associated with a brilliant and unique film like this. Around 30 years ago, Kamal Haasan had done a silent film Pushpaka Vimanam and after so many years, a silent film is being made again under our banner. The making by Karthik and acting by Prabhudheva will surely impress the audiences. This is a complete commercial thriller and I feel just like Baahubali, this film will take Indian cinema to the next level. I thank everyone who supports us.”

Director Karthik Subbaraj says, “This is my fourth directorial venture. My first film Pizza did really well in Telugu and I hope the success will be same for this new film as well. It is a thriller and a silent film that releases on April 13. I am happy to be releasing such a different film in Telugu and I am sure the audience will have a new experience. The film has a unique villain characterization that I wanted a great actor for. That’s how I roped in Prabhudheva sir. He agreed immediately. The film has no songs or dances. The film is now releasing across the country except in Tamil Nadu, where we’ll release the film after the completion of the strike.

Prabhudeva shared, “This is a very good film that is entertaining and has a capability to attracted the masses. This is one of the best films of my career. I didn’t have to undergo any spe+cial preparation for the role and just followed my director’s instructions. Even if I didn’t do the film, it would have been just as amazing. I can’t wait for the audience response towards the film. This will remain Karthik’s best film and I think it will set some high standards of filmmaking in the country. The film will be extremely engrossing and you can see only the characters. Every frame will be exciting. There was no inspiration for my character as the villain. Karthik is a brilliant filmmaker and I took up this film solely because I trust him.
