NTR: Hero of the year 2016

Almost all straight Telugu movies of this year hit the screens; only two movies are left to be released. 2016 has seen more than 170 releases. This is one of the best years for the Telugu cinema industry. Success ratio has been pretty good. Among all the big stars, it is NTR who scored big hits in 2016.

NTR began the year with the release of 'Nannaku Prematho' which was a moderate success. The film grossed more than two million dollars in USA but the collections in domestic market were not rosy. Overall, it was a decent success. But NTR delivered the year's biggest blockbuster in September with 'Janatha Garage'.

Directed by successful filmmaker Koratala Siva, the movie not only grossed more than Rs 70 Cr, it also emerged as the third all-time biggest hit in Tollywood's history. With two back -to-back hits, NTR has earned the tag of Hero of the Year.
