It was ‘Chandramukhi’ which resurrected superstar Rajinikanth’s career. Before the release of ‘Chandramukhi’, Rajinikanth had a series of flops. The film created new records at the box-office when it hit the screens in 2005. 

The film is going to have a sequel. But Rajinikanth will not act in it. Instead, Raghava Lawrence will play the lead role. The film was announced by Lawrence himself. He said he took the blessings from Rajinikanth. The sequel will also be directed by P Vasu, who directed the original ‘Chandramukhi’.

Sun Pictures will produce it. Lawrence has been doing sequels with the ‘Muni/Kanchana’ series and he is now moved on to ‘Chandramukhi’.

Lawrence also had announced a donation of Rs 3 crore to corona relief funds.
