There have been reports that Rajinikanth will be lending support to BJP in Tamilnadu. He is very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is known to be admirer of many top BJP leaders. But he has never campaigned for any party in particular. BJP has tried to rope him into their party but failed.

On Thursday (March 23), Superstar Rajini tweeted, "My support is for no one in the coming elections."

Recently music maestro Ilayaraja's brother Gangai Amaran met Rajinikanth to seek his blessings as he has chosen as the BJP candidate for RK Nagar elections. The by-poll is being conducted as J Jayalalitha who was representing the assembly seat from RK Nagar in Chennai passed away. So, the statement came from him to clear air.
