Ram confirms RED will hit theaters

Giving a clarification on the speculations that Ram Pothineni is contemplating to skip the theatrical release of ‘RED’ in favor of releasing it directly on an OTT platform, the ‘iSmart Shankar’ star said that the film will hit the ‘big screen’. He mentioned that he is not in a dilemma whether to release it on the OTT platform director or wait for the easing of lockdown.
Like always at I am at home quarantine, he quipped. Ram Pothineni is one of the few stars who are reclusive and don’t socialize at all.
‘Red’ is directed by Kishore Tirumala and the film is the remake of a Tamil action drama named ‘Thadam’. Nivetha Pethuraj, Malavika Sharma and Amrutha Aiyer have played the female lead. Produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, ‘Red’ was originally scheduled for April 9, 2020 release. A big digital streaming company reportedly offered the producer to release it directly on its platform skipping theatrical release. Rs 20 Crore payment was offered, it seems.
But Ram wants his fans to watch the film in theaters first. “Nope! #RAPO is not in any dilemma..in fact he’s been chilling at home following the Government’s rules on Social Distancing & Home Quarantine.( like he’s been doing for the past 15 years or so...) & also, he’s waiting to see his fans watch #RedTheFilm on the BIG SCREEN!,” he tweeted.
