Rana is shooting in Ananthapur and its surrounding areas for his current movie that is being directed by Teja. The movie is a political thriller. He plays a faction leader.

Tentatively titled 'Nene Raju Nene Mantri', the movie has Kajal Agarwal and Catherine Tresa as the heroines. This is Rana's second film that has politics as theme. His debut movie Sekhar Kammula's 'Leader' was about the importance of integrity in politics. He played a young CM in the movie.

But in Teja's film, he is donning the role of politician who can go to any length to achieve his lover's dream.
