Mahesh Babu and Sukumar’s film is all set to commence its regular shoot this summer. Buzz is that director Sukumar has chosen a new backdrop for the film’s story. Red sandalwood smuggling, which happens regularly in Andhra Pradesh and a major issue for AP police to tackle, will be the main theme for this movie, sources say. No mainstream Telugu big hero movie has handled this theme.

Sukumar went for period theme set in tribal agency of Rampachodavaram in East Godavari district for his biggest hit ‘Rangasthalam’ starring Ram Charan and now he is said to have chosen the sandalwood smuggling as main backdrop for Mahesh Babu.

Red sanders grow mainly in Seshachalam hills spread across Rayalaseema region. It is widely used by China and East Asian handicraft makers. So, the smuggling is rampant.

It is clear what role Mahesh Babu would be portraying – a police officer or smuggler or local dweller. The film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. It is also said that Sukumar is yet to narrate full-script. The action drama is likely to have a new actress.
