Romance missing out in Tollywood movies

Telugu audiences love entertainment and that is the reason why our makers refrain from making serious drama. In our movies, the mood is kept happy, unlike the Tamil and Malayalam films. Olate, Telugu cinema is slowly moving towards content-oriented films and because of this, the commercial genre films are not being appreciated much as the so-called these movies are lacking essential ingredients that required for such movies. Out of the said ones, romance, in particular, has gone for a toss.

The romantic episodes which we see these days are not up to the mark and this is because of the reason that the makers are only concentrating on hero elevation and other comical aspects. But they have forgotten the fact that if there is no romance, there won't be good songs and automatically, one of the threads in the film goes weak.

If you look at all the recent big films which released this year, none of them had a proper romantic track. Agnyathavasi, Aravinda Sametha, Bharath Ane Nenu, Na Peru Surya, Bhagmathie and Devdas, none of them had proper romantic thread that connected to the audiences. In fact, the episodes in big ticket films like ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and ‘Aravinda Sametha’ were quite disappointing and were like an obstacle for the film.

It is surprising to see makers like Trivikram and Koratala Siva do not give much importance to these aspects. On the other hand, those films with solid romance and good songs have automatically clicked at the box office. Take for example ‘Geetha Govindam’. The film had a very average story but the maker added such a good romantic track and superb songs. And the film became a rage.

Films like Tholi Prema, Rangasthalam and Mahanati are some films which focused on these factors and the end result was there to see for all.

So, the makers need to add romance in their films and actors themselves should come with such conditions that people come to see some heartfelt moments and if they do not see that in the form of romance and songs, there won't be many takers for their films in the future.
