Sankranthi: Are these films confirmed?

South Indian movie industry is still languishing in unprofessionalism as far as release dates are concerned. World over including in Bollywood, release dates are fixed a year or six months ahead and the dates won’t change except in rare cases. But in South India, release dates are fixed only on paper, clarity doesn’t come easily until the final day.
However, this time two biggies have locked their dates in so advance and luckily both these movies would most likely to be sticking to these announced dates. Those two biggies are – Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Agnathavaasi’ (Jan 10) and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’ (Jan 12). These are officially confirmed.
Now speculations have started that Ravi Teja’s under production ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ will also hit the screens during Sankranthi even though the producers of the movie have not made any single update about it in the last six months. The film that was stalled for couple of months for various reasons has resumed its shoot recently. Trade and media has started speculating that the movie would hit the screens for Pongal festival.
On the other hand, Anushka’s ‘Bhaagamathie’ has opted out of Sankranthi race owing to delay in its post-production. New date is yet to be announced. Suriya’s ‘Kaisar’ is likely to be released for Pongal too.
