Senior actress Sumalatha to contest polls?

Senior actress Sumalatha who featured in many hit movies including Megastar Chiranjeevi’s iconic blockbuster ‘Khaidi’ (1983) is said to be joining politics. Her husband Ambareesh is a well-known politician in Karnataka.
The state’s assembly polls are going to be held next month. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee is said to have asked Sumalatha to field this time due to her husband’s ill-health.
She may choose to field in Mandya assembly constituency but the high-command is yet to give nod for this. Sumalatha has acted as lead actress in number of movies in Tollywood apart from Tamil and Kannada movies.
