The team of Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ took a wise decision of releasing it on the festival day. The film that was to release on August 31st was postponed for unavoidable reasons and fixed the date as 13th September as Vinayak Chavithi special. Fans were against of postponing and trade was sceptical about massive openings as the people would be busy with pooja. But the film’s amazing first day collections prove that the makers’ decision was right.

On day one, the film took massive Rs 1.75 Cr from Nizam area which is one of the highest openings a film took this year. In Krishna district, the film took Rs 39 lakhs share on day one which is a record in Chaitanya’s career. On day 1, the film is estimated to have collected a share of Rs 7.35 Cr worldwide with Rs 5.9 Cr share coming from AP and Telangana.

The aggressive promotions and the strong buzz and the holiday has helped the movie. Though critics didn’t give good ratings, the general public are not complaining. Hence the movie is on its way to show its power at box-office.
