Telugu movies bring Gemini back to the top slot

40 days have passed since India went for lockdown. In the initial stage, people were worried about the rising corona positive cases and they glued to TV news bulletins to get the updates. Thus ETV Telugu, which aired news bulletins, continued to hold number one position for the three weeks. Now, people have accustomed to this new reality and they are less worried about cases. So, entertainment has become a top priority.

People have started watching movies on TV channels again. Gemini TV that aired films like ‘Maharshi’, ‘Whistle’, ‘Tagore’, ‘Raja’, and ‘Kousalya Krishnamurthy’ had gained immense viewership. The channel now rose to the top position. ETV that was in the first place for three consecutive weeks has now slipped to the third position. 

OTT platforms are also witnessing a spike in subscribers.
