As expected, Ram Gopal Varma's "Lakshmi's NTR" has landed in soup. TDP leaders have lodged complaint with Election Commission of India as the film is depicting their party's boss Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the villain. And CEC has asked the TDP men to approach state Election commission.

Devineni Chowdhary, the complainant, has raised question how can a political movie be allowed for screening in theaters when the election code is in place. Moreover, the film's producer Rakesh Reddy is member of YSRC party, he alleges.

Devineni Chowdhary says TDP will not object if RGV releases the movie after April 11 when the polls for Andhra Pradesh assembly and parliament constituencies come to an end. He also terms RGV is having mental issues.

Although films like 'NTR Mahanayakudu' and 'Yatra', despite being political movies didn't face any hurdles as there was no election code in place. "Lakshmi's NTR", on the other hand, is aiming to hit the screens on 22nd March when the election code is already in place.

Even if Censor Board clears the movie without any cuts, its release purely depends on the decision of Election commission.

Telugu Desam party fears that RGV's movie would spoil their chances in some constituencies.

"Those from TDP party complaining to Election commission to STOP release of LakshmisNTR because it might show the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister ncbn in bad light should realise that no one can in hell can STOP TRUTH," RGV tweeted saying he would go ahead with his plan.
