Will Nandini Reddy overcome remake syndrome?

Nandini Reddy is one of the few women directors working in India today. The talented director has won a name for herself with films like ‘Ala Modalaindi’ and ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’. She has proved that she is good at making sensible romantic dramas.
Nandini Reddy is testing her luck with ‘Oh Baby’ starring Samantha, which is slated for July 5th release. Although the buzz has been great around this film and the trailer is a super hit, there is a worrying aspect too. ‘Oh Baby’ is remake of Korean drama ‘Miss Granny’. Nandini has already tasted bad result with a remake/freemake.
Nandini Reddy earlier remade Bollywood hit ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ into ‘Jabardasth’ that also starred Samantha along with Siddharth. It was not official remake. Nandini Reddy took basic idea from this Bollywood movie and made in her own way and botched it up. The film was a disaster. Now that ‘Oh Baby’ is also remake with Samantha as the lead actress, trade is worrying about this factor.
But Nandini is confident that this would become a huge hit. Moreover, this is official remake, not freemake like ‘Jabardasth’ was. She is confident that people would forget her earlier remake fiasco.
