Ravi Teja has been planning to remake Bollywood hit 'Special 26' in Telugu. He is still in planning stage. Now, Suriya goes out and remakes the movie. Yes, Suriya's upcoming Tamil - Telugu bilingual 'Gang' is based on Akshay Kumar starrer 'Special Chabbis' aka 'Sepcial 26'. The film is releasing this Jan 12. So, Ravi Teja now has to drop off his plans.

However, the director Vignesh Sivan says 'Gang' is neither a free make nor an official remake."We have acquired the remake rights legally but we are only adapting basic thread. I am making it in my own style," he added.

'Gang' is being presented by UV Creations. The Telugu and Tamil versions will hit the screens simultaneously.
