Bhaagamathie joins $1m dollar club

Anushka has shown her power once again as the lead actress. For the first time she has entered into the club of one million dollars at USA box-office. Although she has mighty “Baahubali” movies in her kitty, this is her biggest hit in USA as a solo heroine. “Bhaagamathie” has crossed the lifetime gross of her previous hit “Rudhramadevi” the other day and it has now grossed one million dollars. By end of second Saturday, it grossed 998k dollars but it has huge Sunday advance bookings too. So it has joined the  club of one million dollars.

It reached this milestone in its second weekend. No other South Indian actress has this record other than Anushka. ‘Bhaagamathie’ is also first million-dollar movie for production house UV Creations.

‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ (which grossed nearly one and half million dollar) was UV Creations previous blockbuster in USA but it was joint production with GA2. This is second consecutive hit for Great India Films that distributed the movie in USA after “Baahubali 2”. Directed by G Ashok, “Bhaagamathie” is a revenge drama with horror elements. Anushka did the role of an IAS officer named Chanchala.
