Bollywood has successfully made a movie based on life story of Silk Smitha. Now a movie is being made on Shakeela, the sex siren that set screens on fire in Southern films in late 90’s and early 2000’s.
 
At one time, Shakeela ruled Malayalam film industry and threatened the stardom of Superstars Mohanlal and Mammotty. The Telugu woman from Nellore not only acted in soft-porn movies but also did mainstream movies. She played roles in Tollywood hits like ‘Jayam’, ‘Nijam’ and ‘Thotti Gang’.
 
Indrajit Lankesh, a Kannada filmmaker, is making the film in Hindi with Richa Chadha playing as Shakeela.
