Putting an end to rumors suggesting that Kaala has been postponed, production house Lyca said they didn't have any such plans. It was widely reported that Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' which is scheduled for April 27 release both in Tamil and Telugu languages will move to later date due to the ongoing strike in Kollywood. 
 
The reports said Lyca has agreed to postpone 'Kaala' from April 27 to later date and push 'Kanam' on 'Kaala's date. However, Lyca now tweeted: "@LycaProductions has not conveyed anything to anyone regarding #Kaala release date. We are not responsible for any statements arising on release date speculations."
 
'Kaala' is sequel to 'Kabaali'. It is directed by Pa Ranjith.
